SUPPORT FOR EIKON IN ETHIOPIA
Eikon is a nine-month internship program for college-age students, equipping them to be effective leaders and change- agents in their community. Eikon is a part of Calvary Church, a congregation that has been committed to mending our local and global communities for over 40 years.The sixth annual Eikon 5K Run will take place on April 27, 2013. This 5K is a fundraising event to support Eikon students’ travel to and work in Ethiopia.

Students will partner with Beza International, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing practical help for needy groups in Addis Ababa through education, job skills training, and community development.

Your generosity, support and encouragement will help make that event possible, and make the 2013 Eikon 5K the best race yet!

ROOKIE RACER OR NOT MUCH OF A RUNNER?
Running a 5K is a great goal to set!  If you’re new to running and not sure where to begin, we can get you started AND help you finish!

CHIP TIMING
The race will be chip timed.  A timing chip will be issued to the first 500 participants.

PARKING AT PLAINFIELD NORTH HIGH SCHOOL
Parking will be available at Plainfield North High School.  Please park in the west parking lot near the school’s marquee sign.  Please do NOT park near the tennis courts.

RESTRICTIONS
Dogs, skates, skateboards, bicycles, scooters or regular strollers will NOT be allowed into this event.  However, running strollers WILL be allowed in the race. Walkers are encouraged to participate in the race.

RACE RESULTS
Printed results will be provided at various times throughout the race. Electronic reports will be available at www.eikon5K.org.

AWARDS AND PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to participants in various age categories; raffle prizes will also be available to participants of all ages.

MEDICAL INFORMATION
A physical examination is not mandatory to run in the Eikon 5K, however, all competitors participate at their own risk.  If you are unsure of your physical condition as it relates to participating in a strenuous 5K run, it is strongly recommended that you seek the advice of a physician.  All persons under 18 years of age MUST have written consent from their parent or legal guardian to participate in the Eikon 5K.  By signing below you waive any and all rights to damages you may have against Calvary Church, Plainfield Township, the City of Naperville, Naperville Park District, Plainfield North High School and School District 202, individuals associated with this event, their representatives, successors and sponsors for any and all injuries including, but not limited to, pre-race, race and post-race activities.

PACKET PICK UP
Participants must pick-up their packets prior to race day at Road Runner Sports.
Runner packets will not be mailed out.
